Breast cancer awareness is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. The goal is to get as many people as possible involved in increasing awareness and funds to help support life saving research and life changing support.
1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime
Mammograms are the best way to identify breast cancer early when it’s easier to get treatment and before it will cause symptoms. There is not sufficient knowledge on the causes of breast cancer, so early detection of the disease is always best. If detected late, however, a curative treatment is often no longer an option.
Risk Factors and Prevention
Not all cases of breast cancer can be prevented, but there are certain cases that can. Some risk factors like family history can’t be changed, but others may depend on a person’s lifestyle. Some of your daily habits may raise the risk of developing breast cancer and include:
- Alcohol
- Smoking
- A sedentary lifestyle
- Overweight and obesity
Others habits will lower the risk like…
- Physical activity
- Healthy diet
- Breast feeding

Remember… early detection is key!
